How loud is it?
Hearing aid manufacturer Starkey have created a useful App that measures the loudness in decibels of your environment.
This can be useful as a hearing aid wearer your most precious asset is your hearing.
You can also use this app to measure in which environments your hearing is adversely affected.
For example a restaurant at a certain number of decibels may be the limit of your tolerance.
Hearing tactics in loud situations
Try to find a quiet place within the environment. For example if there are loud speakers you may not want to be near those.
If you are booking a restaurant ask for the quietest location.
Choose where you site within the group to maximise your hearing potential especially for voices you may have difficulty hearing.
