The Company
The corporate headquarters of Phonak are in Zurich, Switzerland. Founded in 1947, Phonak is regarded by many as the leading platform for hearing aid innovation. In the top level there is Speech Sensor which allows you to understand speech better from the side and behind. It scans in 30° sections and focusses on the loudest speech.
This gives 15% improved speech intelligibility. Stereo Zoom 2.0 is a feature for speech coming from your front. It eliminates noise coming from the environment around you. Speech Enhancer is for improving soft voices.
Evolution of Phonak Marvel Hearing Aids
In 2014, the first hearing aid made for iPhone was released. This allowed people to pair their hearing aids with their iPhone to stream music and phone calls. This has been an incredibly popular Phonak feature ever since.
In 2016, the first reliable rechargeable hearing aids were released, powered by lithium-ion batteries. At this point in time, good rechargeable hearing aids were available and hearing aids made for iPhones were separately available. However, no hearing aid products that effectively combined both features were available on the market. And no hearing aid products that would connect directly with anything other than Apple products were available.
In 2017, Phonak released the first hearing aid to stream directly to not just iPhones, but virtually all mobile phones. However, it was not rechargeable.
In early 2018, Phonak released the first hearing aid made for iPhone that was also powered by lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. We finally had a good made-for-iPhone hearing aid, with a reliable rechargeable battery, but no hearing aids that would connect directly to Android phones or other phones on the market.
Finally, at the end of 2018, Phonak released the Marvel. It ties all these things together, connects to pretty much all phones and is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
The latest Phonak Audeo M (Marvel) Hearing Aid is a Bluetooth enabled Hearing Aid - Made for Android & iPhone. One audiologist described the latest Phonak technology as "incredibly ground breaking like nothing we have ever seen [heard] before".

Roger Direct Microphones
Roger by Phonak is a digital wireless standard that helps hearing aid users to understand 62%* more (in noise and over distance) than those with normal hearing. It uses cutting-edge wireless microphones to pick up the voice of the speaker and transmit it wirelessly over 2.4 GHz to miniature ear-level receivers.
Phonak has improved its popular Roger wireless microphones by enabling them to communicate directly with Marvel hearing aids, without attaching external receivers. This huge improvement makes Roger far easier for people to use and for providers to support. It also keeps the Marvel hearing aids small and lightweight.

Connectivity
The Marvel hearing aid will connect to any phone because it uses Bluetooth® Classic (not Bluetooth low energy). So there is no restriction on the capability and it is very efficient in terms of battery life even for the most connected of users.
